Over the last few months, we have had a bunch of entries from all around the world for our “Win a Trip to NZ” comp. It has been rad to see people around the world wearing Mons, and helping spread the word.
Here are the top ten photo entries for your viewing pleasure …
When July roles around each year it seems every pro snowboarder and skier descends on Lake Wanaka New Zealand leaving the majority of riders sweating it out in the summer sun wishing they could be so lucky.
This New Zealand winter there will be one such person thanks to the merino underwear and first-layer brand Mons Royale.
The lucky winner will receive flights from anywhere in the world on the Air New Zealand network, luxury accommodation thanks to Oak Ridge Resort, a 4×4 Jucy rental car to get around, a days heli skiing with Harris Mountains, and lift passes to both Cardrona and Treble Cone resorts. And to top it off the winner will also relish in two days and nights of action at the world famous Snow Park.
Participants simply need head over to the Mons Royale Facebook page where they can like the brand and enter the competition by simply entering there name and basic details. They can then increase their chance of winning by posting photos of themselves wearing Mons gear. The team will pick out bi-weekly winners to receive fresh Mons Royale threads and evidently have a greater chance of winning the ultimate trip down under.
The winner will be drawn April 30th with the trip valid for the 2012 Southern Hemisphere winter.

A sneak peek at our 12/13 Winter range – about to drop in NZ/AUS stores!
In October last year, we decided to create a challenging, but hilarious promo video for our Win a Trip Down Under campaign. The comp involves Air New Zealand flights from anywhere in the world to Queenstown New Zealand, rental car, luxury accomodation, lift passes and heli skiing … pretty much the most epic winter trip in one of the world’s most beautiful resorts, our home town of Lake Wanaka.

Fresh off our flight from a hot and sunny Queenstown, we rolled into the car rental place at the Denver airport. Expecting some nerdy 2WD Honda or something very much ‘uncool’ in came a bad ass black Dodge Challenger – most inappropriate for driving through the snowy Colorado Alps. Lucky for us, Colorado had bugger all snow, and our Starsky and Hutch gangster mobile barely flinched at the slinky ice roads.
We hit up Breckinridge, Vail, Aspen, Telluride and Creste Butte with woolie panties in tow. Super stoked to hear America loves the product, and shops already on their second reorders.

Over the last couple of weeks we held a ‘win a t photo comp’, entrants just needed to post a photo of themselves and their Mons to our Facebook wall for a chance to win.

Typically New Zealand snow fields are open and cranking by mid June; however this year not a skerrick of snow was to be seen. Many locals were found to experience psychotic disorders, extreme boredom and suffered from severe financial disability due to this lack of frozen precipitation. Unfortunate tourists who had flown to NZ for a holiday in the white stuff during this month also suffered the blow.
It turned out La Nina had something pretty special in store for us, and bought a historic storm that dumped snow on the barren brown mountain tops for 10 days straight! Mountains across NZ, opened a few weeks late, but well worth the wait for the glorious sight of endless pow …
On Treble Cone’s opening day, the Mons crew had a 6am start – boosting for the mountain hoping to get near the front of the queue. The early bird got the worm; first in line at the gates … but alas, second chair after being beaten by some thrifty locals with an easy access ute … not to complain though, Treble Cone delivered the best opening day in history!
